The Farmer and His Sons A farmer had three sons. They often quarreled with one another. The farmer was worried about them. One day, he gave them a bundle of sticks and asked them to break it. Each son tried, but none could break the bundle. Then the farmer untied the bundle and gave them the sticks one by one. They broke the sticks easily. The farmer said, “If you stay united, nobody can harm you. But if you remain divided, you will be weak.” The sons understood their father's lesson and promised to live together peacefully. Moral: Unity is strength.
